The Danielle Dawn Smalley Foundation works first-hand with emergency responders, schools and communities nationwide to increase awareness of underground pipelines and utilities, improve emergency planning and encourage damage prevention. The foundation was started when Danny Smalley lost his daughter, Danielle, to a pipeline tragedy in 1996. The Foundation has since expanded its outreach to more than 40 states providing safety-and-awareness education to first responders, school systems and the general public. Its educational outreach is the longest-running and most-comprehensive pipeline safety school program of its kind.
