Roland Dickey Jr. Wins EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Award 2015 For The Southwest

Roland Dickey Jr., CEO of the Dickey’s Barbecue chain of restaurants, has been named the southwest EY Entrepreneur of The Year at a black tie gala in Dallas, Texas.

EY Entrepreneur Of The Year is one of the most hotly contested business awards throughout the world, and the US has seen more than 14,000 CEO's and executives coming together in over 25 cities to nominate and recognize the brightest and best business leaders. In the Southwest region, EY announced Dickey’s Barbeque Restaurants CEO Roland Dickey Jr. their 2015 winner, presenting him with the award at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas, at a black tie gala on June 27.

The award is designed to reward those innovating within their niches to find new markets and create jobs, judged by a leading panel of previous award winners. The panel praised the President and CEO of the third generation family-run company for elevating the business to new heights. Since taking over in 2006, he has made it the nation’s largest barbeque chain with over 500 stores.

Roland will now be put forward for consideration for the Entrepreneur of The Year National Award, announced in November in California. Dickey Jr. will continue his work in the meantime to grow his business. The accolade would be a crowning achievement in an impressive series of recognitions, including being named one of the Power 20 in the restaurant industry by Restaurant Business Magazine.

Accepting the award, Roland Dickey Jr. showed characteristic humility in leadership, crediting his team, “I am honored to receive this prestigious recognition and wouldn’t be here without the support of my talented team and family – it’s truly a collaborative effort.
