Unlike other legal organizations, National Trial Lawyers is an invitation-only group, and selection in one year does not guarantee selection in following years. They group “provides networking opportunities, advocacy training, and the highest quality educational programs for the nation’s leading trial lawyers,” and is dedicated to upholding justice through the courts.
In order to be selected to the National Trial Lawyers: Top 100 list, a candidate must meet certain criteria. Those criteria include:
• “Reputation among peers, the judiciary and the public
• Achievements, settlements and verdicts as a trial lawyer
• Board certification as a trial lawyer
• Nominations from leading trial lawyers, current members and Executive Committee members
• Leadership and membership in other national and state trial lawyer organizations
• Rankings and ratings by leading national evaluation organizations”
Only attorneys who are currently in practice may be nominated.
