About the Best Places to Work Award
Nashville Business Journal’s Best Places to Work recognizes companies in Middle Tennessee that strive to maintain high employee satisfaction and high retention while promoting a good work-life balance. Initial nominations are open to the public, and then employees of nominated companies are asked to complete a stringent online survey conducted by Quantum Workplace. The anonymous employee survey measures 10 key engagement categories, including trust in leaders, communication and resources, individual needs, personal engagement, team dynamics and manager effectiveness.
In addition to scoring above all other competing companies, nominated companies must also meet a minimum employee survey participation level in order to be considered for the award, a percentage which is based upon the size of each company. Companies are vetted against one another based on this criteria, and the results are announced in a special section of the Nashville Business Journal followed by a luncheon honoring the winners at Wildhorse Saloon on May 9, 2019. Winners include tech companies, insurance firms, marketing agencies, financial and wealth management companies, and law firms.
