The Robina First community looking for the latest information on celebrating our Nation’s first people can join us for NAIDOC Week scheduled for 5th to the 12th July.
Robina First Early Learning Centre is committed to celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people via this year’s event, which will cover key issues such as:
Acknowledge and celebrate our nation’s story – It is a time to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture and achievements and is an opportunity to recognise the contributions that Indigenous Australians make to our country and our society.
Always was, always will be. – It’s about seeing, hearing and learning the First Nations’ 65,000+ year history of this country – which is Australian history. We want all Australians to celebrate that we have the oldest continuing cultures on the planet and to recognise that our sovereignty was never ceded.
Celebrate famous indigenous Australians – Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were Australia’s first explorers, first navigators, first engineers, first farmers, first botanists, first scientists, first diplomats, first astronomers and first artists.

When asked about the reasons behind creating this event, the host of the event, Cassie Young said:
The Robina First community is committed to celebrating our Nation’s first people throughout the year, so NAIDOC Week holds a very special place in our hearts. COVID-19 has interrupted many of our lives, including this year’s annual NAIDOC celebrations. Although this year’s NAIDOC Week has been officially changed we have decided to continue our celebrations during the traditional dates this year in honour of this beautiful culture.
