Award-winning director and writer Rick Walker has been tapped to direct and produce “Second Chances” for State 46 Films as the production company’s first feature film in their partnership with Imagine Agency out of Scottsdale, AZ and Mortimer Creative out of Oklahoma City.
The film, “Second Chances” began the first phase of principal photography in December of 2020 in an area of Oklahoma City known as ‘The Plaza District’ with plans to complete production in February of 2021.
The screenplay, penned by Walker, tells of Jimi White, a 20 year-old employee at the “Second Chances Thrift Store” who secretly tries to reunite a couple after finding a torn up love note in an old handbag leading her on a journey of self-discovery about her own love life.
The lead role went to actress Allyson Cristofaro after an extensive search and audition process.
“Working on ‘Second Chances’ has been a wicked fun time! It’s so exciting to have the opportunity to play a character as spirited and down-to-earth as Jimi. Her search for purpose in a crazy world feels especially relevant today, and I can’t wait for audiences to get to know her.” said Cristofaro.
Rick Walker said of Cristofaro,”We could feel she was the perfect choice to play ‘Jimi’ when she walked into our first meeting. She has very similar sensibilities and even looks like I had envisioned the character. She really dug in and studied this character and with Allyson’s acting chops that’s a potent combination. Her subtle and nuanced portrayal of ‘Jimi’ will allow viewers to really relate to her aspirations and feel her heart.”
In addition to Walker, Kassie Gann is producing the film along with Justan Floyd and Charles “Bud” Elder.

State 46 Films, Imagine Agency and Mortimer Creative provide a wealth of combined experience in filmmaking, digital marketing and project management.
Walker is very enthusiastic about the venture between the three stating, “We plan to produce a library of feature films for streaming services, cable, on-demand and blu-ray / DVD with our incredibly diverse and collaborative team. Utilizing the strengths of the three entities allows for a much stronger production and aggressive marketing strategy across all channels for a bigger release.”
State 46 Films, as one might surmise by its name, was formed to produce Oklahoma-based stories that can only be told with the 46th state’s unique locations, people and vibe.

Oklahoma offers one of the highest base rebate percentages in the nation at 35%.
Although this is the first movie for State 46 Films, Walker has previously written 17 screenplays, produced and directed several documentaries, feature films and reality TV programming in addition to hundreds of national and local TV commercials.
He recently won the Platinum Award for Best Director from the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP)
Veteran filmmaker and cinematographer Justan Floyd is behind the camera as the director of photography on “Second Chances” and Amy Watkins has curated a very specific and beautiful world for ‘Jimi’ to live in as the film’s production designer.
The film will feature music from artists such as Briel, Stephen Salewon and Zac Maloy along with the alternative rock band ‘The Nixon’s’ among others.
The film “Second Chances” is planning a release in late Summer or early Fall of 2021.
