Revolutionary Brands Inc. comments on a recent study revealing fullerene's benefits in treating arthritis.

Revolutionary Brands Inc. (www.RevBrandsInc.com), a seller and distributor of unique health and beauty products throughout North America, is weighing in on research that reveals that fullerene may have benefits for patients suffering from arthritis.

Researchers at the St. Marianna University School of Medicine in Kawasaki, Japan have discovered that water soluble fullerene, an ingredient in skin care products due to its anti-inflammatory properties, inhibits the development of arthritis in rats. When tested on rats, the study found the fullerene helped to suppress the production of inflammation-producing free radicals that led to inflammation in their ankle joints. "We've known about fullerene's benefits in soothing irritated skin for years, namely that it acts as a ‘scavenger’ that attacks free radicals that cause skin inflammation,” says Brad Lawson, owner of Revolutionary Brands Inc. “However, nobody had any idea that it could spell relief for people with arthritis as well.”

The researchers divided the rats into two groups, with one receiving an injection of saline and the other fullerene for eight weeks. The rats with arthritis who received the fullerene injections showed reduced bone absorption and destruction of their joints. However, it should be noted that the findings of the study are still very tentative.

"The findings of the scientists at St. Marianna University are very promising," Lawson concludes. "Though they may be tentative, the results show that fullerene could possibly provide therapeutic benefits for patients suffering from the pain and swelling of arthritis. And in the meantime, people suffering from acne can continue to enjoy its benefits."

Revolutionary Brands Inc. is the source for Nova C60, a cream for acne-prone skin that contains fullerene. Nova C60 features many soothing properties and inhibits sebum, the naturally occurring oil that causes acne, as well as a number of other benefits.
