3rd Degree Gracie Blackbelt, Phil Cardella has recently announced the third annual seminar. This women’s self-defense seminar is free to the public and will be held at the JCA on San Marco.

— With April being Sexual Assault Awareness month, the underlying mission is to invest in creating awareness and make the community safer.

One of the key spokespersons for the center was quoted as saying, “Self-defense doesn’t happen by accident. It’s important to impart women the right kind of training to give them the mindset and strategies to help them combat adverse situations.”
For this prestigious event, a world-class Army Combative and Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Instructor, and several assistants will be present. They would not only shed light on the different aspects of self-defense pertaining to women but at the same time, they would also take up any of the questions or concerns which the audience may have with regards to this theme. This event is was created to invest in the community to grow a sense of empowerment, awareness, and pro-activeness.

It is important that women learn these skills because one can never be sure as to the kind of situations they may find themselves in. Knowing the best of self-defense skills will give participants an edge, as they will be better prepared to handle the different adversities and evade conflict.
