Reform Synagogue in Henderson/Las Vegas NV Announces High Holy Days Services

Congregation Shirat Shalom of Southern Nevada High Holy Days Services: Sunday October 2, 2016, at 7:00 pm at Wildhorse Golf Club, Henderson, Nevada; Monday October 3rd, at 10:00 am. Yom Kippur: Tuesday, October 11, at 7:00 pm, and 10:00 am, Wednesday, October 12.


Congregation Shirat Shalom of Southern Nevada will present Erev Rosh Hashanah High Holy Days Services on Sunday Evening, October 2, 2016, at 7:00 pm at the Wildhorse Golf Club, 2100 W. Warm Springs Road, Henderson, Nevada 89014. Rosh Hashanah Services will continue on Monday morning, October 3rd, at 10:00 am, also at Wildhorse Golf Club. As the High Holy Days approach, Congregation Shirat Shalom’s Spiritual Leader, Cantor Philip Goldstein, is wishing the Henderson and Las Vegas Nevada Jewish community L’Shanah Tovah, along with an invitation to attend services and join in prayer and celebration to bring in the Jewish New Year. “On behalf of Congregation Shirat Shalom of Southern Nevada, I wish everyone in the Jewish community a Happy New Year. As the Jewish calendar turns over to year 5777, let us all gather together, reflect on year 5776 and pray for a prosperous New Year filled with peace, happiness and good health” Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, marks the beginning of the High Holidays in the Jewish faith. The ritual blowing of the Shofar (ram’s horn) signals the beginning of a 10-day period known as the Days of Awe — a time of reflection — ending on Yom Kippur, a day of fasting and prayer. Erev Yom Kippur Services will be held at Wildhorse Golf Club on October 11, Tuesday evening, at 7:00 pm, with Yom Kippur Services at 10:00 am, Wednesday, through Sundown, October 12.


Active Military personnel (with valid ID) will be admitted free. Full-time matriculated students with current Student ID (Age 26 and under) will be admitted free. Tickets for non-members are $180.00 per person. The public is invited to join Congregation Shirat Shalom of Southern Nevada for weekly Shabbat Services, held every Friday evening at 7:00 PM, as well as Torah Study / Discussion and services every Saturday morning starting at 9:00 AM at Congregation Shirat Shalom / Unity Center, 3037 E.
