The following press release provides information regarding R&B soul music artist Jennifer Lang’s recently announced support of the Heifer International Charity.

New York based R&B soul music recording artist Jennifer Lang has recently announced her support of humanitarian aid organization Heifer International. Specifically, Lang has pledged to donate 50% of her online record sales to the charitable group. Her partnership with this organization allows Lang to combine her passion for music, charity, and community support—three pillars of her upbringing.

Heifer International, Inc. is an organization dedicated not just to fulfilling the immediate needs of the world’s poor, but to providing them with the tools they need to succeed. In other words, while the company strives to provide the recipients of its aid with food and necessities as soon as possible, they also want to ensure that these individuals can become self-sufficient.

To this end, the Heifer International Charity donates livestock to underprivileged families in countries all over the world, from Canada to Kenya to Cambodia, and then teaches them how to raise livestock as part of their livelihood. The organization’s hope is that once these individuals get on their feet, they will be able to “pay it forward,” gifting livestock to the less fortunate in their community. It is this kind of forward-thinking philanthropy that drew Lang to the organization in the first place.

In fact, the entire mission of this charitable organization is in line with Lang’s own upbringing and set of beliefs. A member of the church since her youth, Lang has long been a proponent of charity work. Moreover, having been born and raised in a rural area of Arkansas that saw its share of poverty, Lang herself is well aware of the difficulties faced by the socioeconomically disadvantaged. Thus, partnering with Heifer International, whose primary emphasis is on giving back to the less fortunate in one’s community, is a natural step for the R&B soul music singer/songwriter.

The Heifer International Charity’s focus on family and spirituality also influenced Lang’s decision to support the organization. After joining her church choir at the age of 8, Lang quickly learned not only the power of music, but the importance of spiritual togetherness. Indeed, themes of devotion, support, love, and perseverance play a central role in her musical projects.

Those interested in joining Lang in her support for the Heifer International Charity can visit her website at GiveThroughMusic.com, where songs are available for $1.29 each. Half of her proceeds from her recently released singles, including “Fairy Tales,” “Hi,” “Take Me There,” and “Don't Think On It” will go directly to Heifer International.
