An Australian Dance Co-op has launched a package targeting lovers of Social Dancing, now called Recreational Structured Partner Dancing. Various benefits are offered to dancers, fans, and operators.

A Co-op supporting Queensland and all Australian States in their efforts to continue Ballroom Dancing Clubs has been launched. Its goal is to facilitate Ballroom dancers, admirers, suppliers, and venues with an effective avenue to communicate and support each other.

This Ballroom dance co-op was developed to assist all those involved in the Partnered Dancing sector, due to the new ways the community has to operate with COVID compliance, social dance has been renamed Recreationally Structured Partner Dancing. This change is an effort to help Ballroom dancers, suppliers, venue owners, fans, and dance club organisers to connect and navigate in the new contactless environment created by the pandemic.


The new requirements mandated by the pandemic have created a raft of changes that recreational and all genres of the partnered dance sectors can stay abreast of by joining this organisation. The organisation is officially called 4Ballroom Dance Co-op Ltd. and is open to anyone interested in the dance sector including Social. competitive and forms that include partners for all abilities.


The switch to the term Recreational Structured Partner Dancing (RSPD) has been put forward under the Dance and Physical Performing Arts (DPPA) Plan. The published thirty-two-page document that outlines the various protocols surrounding dance requirements necessary to operate at this time.


It informs those in the dance world that what was formerly referred to as “social” will now be referred to as “RSPD” ( Recreational Structured Partner Dancing) dancing to ensure that ballroom dancing and the clubs that support them are seen as distinct from any other form of freestyle or social dancing that takes place in nightclubs or bars.


The Exclusive RSPD appellation terminology is intended to assist with pandemic compliance and allow all participants to have a streamlined option to access ballroom and structured partner dancing. Supporters of the Co-op receive a Co-op Store Coupon plus a Hotel discount card to assist the wider community for only a $30 supporter subscription. By joining this dance club family, members can link their websites, have a directory listing, and be found through the company app, and thus become a vital part of the wider dance community. The app integrates geofencing and pushes notifications directly to interested dancers in specific areas. It provides leverage through the “group” and handles attendance bookings, attendance registration, administration tasks, and operational needs, all while providing contact less options.


The Co-op also gives vendors the ability to print their own compliance and relevant information packs and posters via venue and operator specific bundles and also offers general templates found on the company website. It gives social leverage, via an automatic posting function that targets a vendor’s audience and gives direct access to potential new dancers at all levels.
