Providence Classical Christian School is proud to announce it’s 20th school year brining a classical education to Pre K-12 graders in Spring, Texas.
— Providence Classical School is excited to announce that the new school year starts on September 3rd.
Providence Classical School started as a dream shared between three sets of parents with a heart for education. They began to discuss their vision for a distinctive school; a school where students could be taught in the grand Western tradition that produced its greatest thinkers. They all agreed that the classical Christian school model of education is the key to developing students who could reason logically and communicate winsomely from a biblical worldview.
They realized this dream in 2000. PCS opened its doors in a renovated shopping mall with twelve students and a faculty of five. A concrete parking lot served as the playground, where students enjoyed games of four square and Wiffle ball.
From this humble beginning, PCS moved in 2015 into its permanent campus at 18100 Stuebner Airline Rd in Spring, Texas. More than four hundred students are currently enrolled in Pre K-12th grades.
Student life at Providence is planned and spontaneous, formal and casual, quiet and raucous. While both academic and extracurricular programs can foster a particular interest, the school’s intimate size makes it easy for students to try something new.
The Grammar School students bring history to life through the re-enactment of the Trojan War, President’s Day, Shakespeare’s plays, a live American History Museum, Medieval and Egyptian Feasts, and much more.
The Upper School students experience the Logic and Rhetoric phase of the Tr i v i u m while participating in the House System and student organizations. Student organizations provide arenas for new ventures, new responsibilities, and new experiences. These can profoundly change how students see themselves, their world, and their place in it.
Grammar and Upper School students are brought together at chapel services. Each Grammar student is paired with a chapel buddy, as they come together to honor each other and the work that Christ is doing in their lives and community. Chapel buddies also enjoy lunch together once a month.
With God’s love and grace, Providence Classical School will continue to achieve the mission of training students to impact their culture for Christ.
Many parents feel that a Christ-centered education will equip their children to think for themselves. That it can help them become the whole human beings that God intended them to be. That it will inspire them to be leaders in their families, churches, and communities.
