Jason Baum, of Las Islas de Doramas, which breeds, sells and shows Presa Canario dogs, has been approved this year by the AKC to be an official judge for the breed. He is the first and only person to be approved by the AKC for the breed, highlighting his expert knowledge of the dog, which he has developed over the last 14 years.

Jason is also the president of the Dog Canario Club of America, and has instituted 11 regional speciality shows around the country, in addition to the National Show, which has been judged by judges from Spain and the Canary Islands.
The breeders of Las Islas De Doramas are fluent in Spanish and have studied the breed, in addition to visiting the Canary Islands more than most, if not all breeders in the country.
