A free trial of the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu martial arts has been launched in Portland by Northwest Fighting Arts. The 30-day trial comes with warm-up, technique, and resistance training.

Northwest Fighting Arts, a martial arts company situated in Portland, Oregon, has launched its 30 days trial Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) program. The system was designed to teach individuals to achieve such life skills as strategy, timing, empowerment, happiness, controlling their breathing, and confidence.

The newly launched free trial is aimed at helping interested individuals learn how to achieve physical performance, enjoy a lifetime of fitness, and develop practical self-defense skills. The training is also fashioned to assist one physically in the areas of muscle conditioning and toning.

Once enrolled in the program, participants can expect to pass through three phases. These comprise warm-up, focus on technique, and freeroll/resistance training. During the warm-up phase, participants will have the opportunity of engaging in several BJJ training-specific conditioning exercises.


These conditioning exercises, according to the spokesperson, helps one to develop whole-body strength and flexibility while at the same time serves to elevate one’s heart rate in preparation for the training. Phase two will entail improving one’s personal techniques along with building combinations, setups, and counter techniques.


During the resistance training and final phase of the three, participants will be taught how to apply their previously learned skills against uncooperative opponents. For this to be a success, trainees will pass through several partners of varying body types, skills, and strength levels.
