The firm opened its first office in Hyattsville, Maryland on June 1, 1985. On October 1, 1985, the second office was opened in Columbia, Maryland and became the main office. Plaxen & Adler has since expanded and now maintains nine locations throughout the State of Maryland.

“It really doesn’t feel like 30 years,” said partner and firm founder Bruce Plaxen. “When I started this firm in 1985, I did so to help people who were really in need. About the Principal Attorneys

Bruce Plaxen is an award-winning nationally recognized trial attorney, and has spent 22 years on the Board of Governors for the Maryland Association for Justice. Bruce has spent 10 years on the Board for the American Association of Justice and won many national awards for his advocacy on behalf of victims. In 2001-2002, Bruce served as President of The Maryland Association for Justice and in 2009 he was recognized as Trial Lawyer of the Year. He is the current Chair of the MAJ Political Action Committee. Bruce worked on the largest pro bono project in history to help victims and their families after the 9/11 attacks.

Harry Adler is one of the leading workers’ compensation attorneys in Maryland. In addition, he is often called upon to serve as a mediator between insurance companies and plaintiffs, who respect and trust his practical guidance and judgement. Harry served on the Howard County Judicial Nominating Commission to screen potential Judicial Nominees for the Governor.

Both attorneys have spoken numerous times before the Maryland General Assembly to urge the passage of bills which focus on protecting the rights of the injured.
