Physics and Math Coaches to Get Cash IncentivesUniversity fellows who already have PhD in physics and maths are now being offered additional hundreds of dollars in wages and benefits, just to become Sg Physics Coach and math coaches. This is according to a report gathered by Alibaba Printing.
Under the NGO and profit organizations’ joint-funded programmes, those who will get hired would receive up to $40,000 a year in addition to their basic teaching wages. Most of the teachers earn a minimum salary of $35,000. The programme aims to get younger students to be interested with studying math and physics. It follows a certain education group’s warning about the decreasing number of math and science teachers. “Even the number of students studying maths and the sciences in general are greatly reduced, and we are a bit worried that sooner than later, we will have shortages not only for teachers, but for science and math experts as well,” says Truman Dang, senior teacher in a popular Singapore-based physics coaching centre.
This wage increase programme is a part of university and school research training for PhD graduates. Funded by several international firms, the sponsor program already has 102 applicants and is aiming for more aspirants. You may see the complete list of applicants here.
