A children’s summer program for 7 to 10 years olds, Doodlebug Club’s summer youth art camp barks in on adventures of messy art, cool crafts, movies, swimming and other themed activities.

“This 5 days Phoenix summer camp will make kids dive into a variety of creative experiences with hands on art instruction from the Doodlebug Club”, says owner, Angie Nelson.

The Doodlebug Club is a Phoenix based art club, which introduces a visual art and visual literacy program to children from Kindergarten to 6th grade. Each curriculum lesson focuses on a body of artwork from a famous artist, like Pablo Picasso, Vincent Van Gogh, Georgia O’Keeffe, Henri Matisse, etc.

Using educational stories, children actually get to “visit” the countries, cities and historical time periods of master artists and their subjects through Doodlebug Club’s unique art program.

Nelson says, “Children get a better understanding and appreciation of the art subject by learning the techniques, media and elements of the artist. They engage in visual-creative thinking as they create their own works of art through Doodlebug club’s art program.”

Also, Doodlebug club’s K-8th grade curriculum includes a studio art project with emphasis on technique and concepts to make children learn drawing, sketching and painting skills.

Their 5 day summer camp is a creative experience focused around art and other fun summer activities for youth. This is their third year of fun in the sun, introducing new crafts, art and themed days for the kids.

What differentiates Doodlebug Club’s youth art day camp from other youth art camps and summer day camps is that it is not just an art camp but a fun camp, including fun activities like movies and swimming along with art. It also offers a wholesome nutritious lunch for young ones.

“This hands-on, practical experience helps your child develop visual awareness and appreciation of art. When finished your child will beam with pride when your walls are decorated with their actual pieces of your artwork.” adds Nelson.
