Perth, Australia-based company Training Services Australia have made updates to their Training and Education (TAE) package to adhere to new trainer and assessor credential requirements. These updates were made to ensure the vocational education and training (VET) workforce has the appropriate skills in designing and development assessment tools and identifying and evaluating language, literacy and numeracy skills.

The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) was developed for those who are required to design and delivery training and assessment services within the formal VET sector in Australia using nationally recognised training packages.

Successful completion of the program will equip participants with the skills to analyse nationally recognised training packages and units of competency, design and develop learning programs for national recognised units of competency and plan, prepare and delivery training sessions to groups.

The course will also teach participants the skills to develop and implement work-based learning pathways for individuals, and plan, organise and conduct assessments against nationally recognised units of competency, including development of assessment tools.

The TAE40116 qualification is specifically for people who will conduct training and assessment as a substantial proportion of their job role, or will be aspiring to such a role. Individual courses are available for those who intend to perform only a limited amount of training and assessment in their roles.

The course is typically completed over a 6 to 18 month timeframe and consists of 15 days of face-to-face training, plus two support days. Training Services Australia is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and have been delivering Training and Assessment qualifications for over 23 years.
