The mobile urgent care, whose ER/urgent care trained providers go to the patient’s home or office, has announced that its fourth consecutive win as “Best Mobile Urgent Care 2022” coincided with its induction to the Peachtree City, GA Business Hall of Fame.

There are now approximately 2,000 mobile health clinics throughout the U.S., though not all are urgent care providers. In general, they are a boon to local communities because they make health care more affordable and accessible, which improves outcomes for patients. For example, according to studies, each mobile clinic reduces the number of emergency room visits by 600 each year: ER visits cost an average of over $1200, while urgent care visits typically cost under $200.
GoMed’s service allows patients who have had accidents or whose illness may not warrant a trip to the hospital direct access to physicians and medical care providers from their own homes. The clinic’s mobile urgent care providers are emergency room trained and are equipped with many of the same tools and most of the same technologies available on-site at permanent physical facilities.
Accordingly, medical staff can typically perform the same standard tests and treatments – including both Rapid Antigen and PCR Covid-19 Testing. Other services offered range from treatment for sprained joints, migraines, nausea, and heartburn, to ear and urinary tract infections. Also treated are common conditions such as fever, strep throat, and viral infections. The team can even accommodate people suffering from symptoms of overindulgence by treating them with IV fluids.

The clinic’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Chris Edens, has been an emergency physician in Georgia for over 25 years. After his residency at Emory University, he has worked mostly as the Emergency Department Medical Director, in various locations throughout Georgia.
Most major insurance is accepted and GoMed sees patients 7 days a week from 8 am to 8 pm.
