Editor David Shaw had this to say about the magazine

“Being the parent of two young girls, I realized there were a lot of parents out there who secretly wish that their children had come with a user manual. Parental Guidance aims to be the monthly parenting magazine subscription that inspires parents to think about parenting in different ways so they can be the best parent they can be. Magazines can be a hassle to carry around though so we decided to launch this magazine exclusively as an app, currently only available from iTunes”.

The first edition was released on February 28 and has already been well received. Two articles that stand out are “7 Important Life Skills to Teach Your Children” and “10 Sanity Saving Strategies to Help You Cope If Your Kids Are Driving You Crazy”. The first give some good parenting tips to help children be happier and the second is a must read article for parents everywhere who have ever felt stressed when trying to be a parent.

Parental Guidance is available on iTunes and, for a limited time, people are able to download the app for free. Asked about the decision to offer a free download, Shaw replies

“We wanted as many people as possible to be able to discover and enjoy our parenting tips magazine. Accordingly we are offering a 7 day trial for a very limited period of time. Parents are able to download the app for free and then after 7 days they can choose to purchase if they enjoyed it. More than this, the cost of a copy of this app is ultimately less than $2 an edition which is much less than what you would pay for a physical copy of a similar magazine. Our hope is that positive reviews will come from people getting a risk free look at our new parenting magazine”.

Shaw is pleased to note that this offer is being accepted by many different people already, with five star reviews being submitted. Those interested in downloading a copy of this magazine app on a 7 day trial can

“We trust that people will do the right thing and purchase the magazine if they have enjoyed reading it and got value from it throughout the trial period” Shaw concludes. “The trial offer will only be kept available for as long as it is affordable to do so, so we encourage people to get in quick while they still can”.
