This dental experience breaks down as follows...
1.) A ‘Welcoming and Comforting’ Atmosphere
When a patient comes to Dr. Haynie for care, they enter an environment that has been described as being more like a spa than a dental clinic. The staff greet patients upon arrival and immediately give them a tour of the facilities “…in order to make it a more comfortable and familiar situation for patients.”
After the tour, patients go into an exam room where they are met with a surgical assistant and receive a welcome gift before consulting with Dr. Haynie.
Dr. Haynie commented on the amount of attention and information given to patients during consultation, “It’s a passion of mine to ensure that our patients understand everything about their care and all their options, so they can make the best decisions for themselves.”
2.) No Pain.... All Gain
As a board certified oral surgeon, Dr. Haynie and his team can provide general anesthesia to a wide-range of patients, including children and the elderly.
General anesthesia has proved to be a popular option among Dr. Haynie’s patients.
When asked about the benefits of being able to provide in-office general anesthetic to patients, Dr. Haynie said, “The anesthetic component does a few things for the patient as they are not nervous or anxious about their pain while asleep. The other benefit is that we are able to work more quickly, which means patients walk out of our office with less residual pain and swelling.”
Also, because patients receiving a general anesthetic are required to bring an escort, Dr. Haynie’s office also provides an extremely high level of comfort to the escorts and family. For example, the clinic has a private theatre room complete with snacks and drinks where the family can watch things like Netflix on comfy couches.
Dr. Haynie commented, “Our patients and their family truly appreciate privacy, particularly with anxious family members who don’t want to show they are nervous to strangers in a waiting room. By the time we talk to the family members about how the procedure went, they are in a more private and secluded environment.”
A Caring Mission
“Providing opportunities of personal, professional and family growth” is a mission very close to the heart of Dr. Haynie and his team. It has been fueled through times of hardship in Dr. Haynie’s life and drives the office as a whole as well as his team’s future vision of Lakeside Oral Surgery and Dental Implants.
A big part of this mission is youth mentorship, a value Dr. Haynie draws on from his interest in educating. Dr. Haynie commented, “Our big picture is to create a foundation for youth that will help our children and youth understand that they have unlimited capacity for growth, and that the sky is not the limit.” Dr. Haynie believes these children are our future and they can be anything they set out to be; he intends to show the community this.
This mission has provided the basis for the office’s “3, 4, 5” vision for the next 10 years, which is to create three new youth foundations, funded by four oral surgery offices and staffed by five oral surgeons.
