NASHVILLE, TN, October 6, 2020 — In its continuing mission to provide experienced eye care to Middle Tennessee patients, OPMT Vision Centers is pleased to welcome Sarah Fowler, O.D., to the team at the Portland and Hendersonville offices.
“We are proud to add a bright young optometrist to our team,” said Dr. Richard Durocher, O.D. “She is very experienced with a variety of different eye conditions. We’re confident that Dr. Fowler will add a new perspective to an already strong group of doctors, and we look forward to having our patients trust her with their care.”
After earning her degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s School of Optometry, Dr. Fowler completed her residency at the Wilmington VA Medical Center in Delaware, gaining extensive experience in treating age-related conditions such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and post-stroke management. She has an excellent instinct for working with a wide variety of patients, especially in providing attentive care for older individuals.
Dr. Fowler’s passions have also led her abroad to practice eye care for patients in need. She’s been on mission trips to Guatemala twice to provide eye care to over 1,500 patients. Now that she’s settling down in Middle Tennessee, Dr. Fowler is excited about building a life in the area and bringing exceptional eye care to her new neighbors.
“I tend to gravitate towards cases that involve multiple conditions and treatments,” said Dr. Fowler. “In the past, I have often been the first to jump at an emergency case and am always up for a challenge. There are just so many challenges for the eyes that come with growing and aging, and I cannot wait to help my new patients in Tennessee handle these changes!”
