Fans of drag racing have more reasons to rejoice this season, as Quarter Mile Addiction, the pit shop for drag racing nostalgia merchandise, has expanded and redesigned its official store. Marking the occasion is thelaunch of a new set of nostalgia merchandise, wall posters and smart phone cases.
The supply of ‘Legends of 1968’ T-shirt and accessories is limited, and orders can be placed at the official Quarter Mile Addiction store.
Those were the days! Drag car races ruled the roost in the US throughout the 1960s and 70s. There won’t be many who have never heard of terms such as drag racing, pro stock and super stock racing, the funny cars, hot rod gassers, and the fuel altered races. For the fans, big treats were in offer in the form of a war between factory hot rods and altered wheelbase cars, and the expression, ‘Race on Sunday, Sell on Monday’ is etched in automobile history. The factory horse power war continues to this day.
Quarter Mile Addiction merchandise is designed to keep us connected. Five legendary Dodge and Plymouth cars are featured on the new wall papers and mobile cases – the 1968 SS Barracuda, ’68 Plymouth Roadrunner, ’68 Dodge Coronet/Superbee, ’68 Dodge Charger and the ’68 SS Dart.
Says the team behind Quarter Mile Addiction, “The phenomenon that is drag racing went viral in the 1960s after the first Super Stock race was held. It is our mission now to keep the same spirit alive through a new set of nostalgia mobile phone cases, wall papers, T-shirts, hoodies and coffee mugs.”
The store aims to capture virtually every memorable moment of drag races, be it the cars, catchy slogans, or vintage TV and radio adverts (like those from Jan Gabriel of “Sunday Sunday Sunday” fame), or the more infamous ones announcing events at Lions Drag Way, US York 30 Drag Way, and Smokers at Bakersfield (FAMOSO).
The new merchandise additions pay tribute to the big four events, the Mopar Nationals, Mopar Fest, Carlisle Chrysler Nationals and the NHRA US Nationals. Mopars are celebrating half a century of high performance, and Quarter Mile Addiction is the only store to offer tribute merchandise for these legendary cars.
More drag racing memorabilia can be found easily at the store with a simple search. Some new additions are the 1968 Hemi Super Stock Drag Racing designs, and vintage Pro Stock Outlaw tees giving us a fresh look at the mythical factory hot rods. All nostalgia merchandise is proudly made in the US, and premiums T-shirts are available in all sizes, from small to extra large.
