NO TOFU Relaunches Print Edition With New Format for Spring & Summer 2014 Issue

NO TOFU is bringing print journalism back into vogue, like the re-emergence of vinyl, with a new format full gloss edition of their magazine, which went online only in 2013.

With the release of CDs, Vinyl declined and all but disappeared. As music became even less physical with the rise of MP3, Vinyl suddenly returned, as people wanted a musical experience that was more than just auditory. Similarly, now journalism has become more ethereal across online presences, the print magazine is finding a new life just as people began to predict its death. One such example is NO TOFU that is relaunching their print edition in a premium format.

The new format will use full gloss 10x12" pages that will emphasize the impact of the magazine’s beautiful photography and unique visual aesthetic. Using a thicker paper stock and more pages, the quarterly release will transform the magazine into an event for collectors to enjoy a rich sensory experience.

The new issue, a quarterly billed as NO TOFU Spring/Summer 2014, features Grammy-nominated musician Shirley Manson of the band Garbage on the cover, in a stunning fashion editorial shot by celebrity photographer Zoey Grossman.

The issue also features exclusive interviews with the bands Warpaint, ADULT., Xiu Xiu, Yacht, Janet Weiss of Sleater-Kinney, Perfect Pussy, actress Isabelle Huppert, filmmakers Kelly Reichardt and Lee Krieger, artist Asger Carlsen and more to play directly to the passions of the online presence’s core readership.

The Spring/Summer issue is out the first week of April and is distributed in locations throughout the USA, updates about which will be shared throughout NO TOFU Social.

A spokesperson for NO TOFU explained, “The new print edition of NO TOFU represents our uncompromising commitment to a strong visual aesthetic, intelligent long-form articles and cutting edge photography by redefining the concept of what a quality magazine is. Every edition is a special collector’s edition, and aims to stimulate the senses in a whole variety of ways, not just the visual and intellectual material but the tactile quality of the paper, the sheen of the gloss, the weight of the pages- it creates a more enriching, holistic experience than any online slate could achieve.”
