Exit From PW1500G Engine Risk-Revenue Sharing Programme
SIA Engineering Company Limited (“SIAEC”) wishes to announce that it has entered into an agreement with Pratt and Whitney (“PW”) to exit from the PW1500G engine Risk-Revenue Sharing Programme (“RRSP”) that was held through its wholly-owned subsidiary, NexGen Network (2) Holding Pte. Ltd. (“NGN2”). This programme was previously known as the CSeries aircraft engine programme. NGN2 invested in the RRSP in 2010 and had a 1% share of the programme prior to the exit. Participants of the RRSP are required to share the costs, risks and revenues of the PW1500G geared-turbofan engine, from its design and development to its production (including engine spare parts), post-certification engineering support, marketing and sales, as well as the provision of aftermarket services including maintenance, repair and overhaul (“MRO”) services. The investment came with derived benefits for Eagle Services Asia Private Limited (“ESA”), a joint venture between PW (51%) and SIAEC (49%) in Singapore, which included new engine capability and MRO work for ESA, and relevant investment support grants related to the development of new engine capability. As the RRSP requires further capital injection, after careful deliberation and with PW’s agreement, a decision was taken to exit from the RRSP. This will allow the SIAEC Group to deploy capital, which would otherwise have been used to support the funding of the RRSP, to other areas that are better aligned with its growth strategy. Upon exiting the RRSP, the Group will write off S$25.1 million of net assets associated with this programme. None of the Directors and controlling shareholders of SIAEC has any interest, direct or indirect, in the transaction, other than through their shareholdings (if any) in SIAEC. * * * * About SIA Engineering Company (Company Registration No. 198201025C) www.siaec.com.sg SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC) is a major provider of aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services in Asia-Pacific. CapitaLand Investment launches its first Climate Resilience Report aligned with Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures
CLI Climate Resilience Report 2023 CapitaLand Investment Limited (CLI) has launched its first standalone Climate Resilience Report that is based on the recommendations by the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD). The report includes a comprehensive climate scenario analysis of CLI’s diversified portfolio of more than 480 properties in 20 countries 1 across different asset classes. Since 2017, CapitaLand has been aligning its climate-related disclosures in the four key areas of governance, strategy, risk management, and metrics and targets as recommended by the TCFD. This is CLI’s third climate scenario analysis and the first time it has analysed its properties on a global portfolio level under three scenarios where global temperatures rise by up to 1.5°C, 2°C and 3°C by 2100. A quantitative and qualitative analysis was conducted, covering physical and transition risks. Coastal flooding was identified to potentially pose the most significant risk to CLI across all three scenarios as compared to other physical risks such as fluvial flooding, tropical cyclones, extreme cold, extreme heat and wildfire. Globally, most of CLI’s properties already have flood control measures in place such as flood barriers, sensors and water level pumps. Floods are highlighted in due diligence reports for new investments and plans are in place to integrate climate change resilience into the design, development and management of properties. CLI will continue to regularly update its flood emergency response plans to strengthen its resilience against flood risk. Transition risks analysed include potentially more stringent regulations, changes in electricity prices and increased expectations from stakeholders. Carbon price shifts are one of the more significant transition risks that may impact the global portfolio. CLI has outlined a decarbonisation strategy in its 2030 Sustainability Master Plan (SMP) to ensure the adoption of measures to minimise carbon emissions and reduce CLI’s exposure to future carbon price shifts. [1] CLI owned properties as at 31 December 2022.CapitaLand’s consistent recognition by international indices such as GRESB cements CapitaLand’s position as a global sustainability leader in real estate. Sustainability is core to everything we do at CLI and we will continue to grow our business responsibly as we reinforce CLI as one of the leading listed real estate investment managers globally Mr Vinamra Srivastava, CLI's Chief Sustainability & Sustainable Investments Officer, said: “CLI’s third climate scenario analysis is our widest in coverage and deepest in impact assessment thus far. It allows us to gain critical insights on the extent of impact of the various physical and transition risks through a top-down approach – from a global portfolio level, across each of our real estate investment trusts (REITs) and business trusts as well as countries, down to the property level. This further guides us in making more informed decisions on directing our green capital expenditure towards parts of the business with significant risk exposure, building resilience and reducing vulnerability of identified properties. We are prioritising our measures on managing the key climate-related risks and opportunities and enhancing sustainability considerations into our business strategies, as we work towards achieving our 2050 Net Zero target for our scope 1 and 2 emissions.” CapitaLand’s consistent recognition by international indices such as GRESB cements CapitaLand’s position as a global sustainability leader in real estate. Sustainability is core to everything we do at CLI and we will continue to grow our business responsibly as we reinforce CLI as one of the leading listed real estate investment managers globally “This Climate Resilience Report that is aligned to TCFD also demonstrates our focus to increase governance and enhance our disclosures, policies and practices to international standards. We recognise the urgency of climate action, and have refreshed CLI’s 2030 SMP last year to provide greater clarity on the pathways to achieve our sustainability goals. We are continuing our journey to step up our environmental, social and governance (ESG) efforts as we grow our business,” added Mr Srivastava. CLI’s climate transition plan and metrics CLI’s climate transition plan was updated as part of the CLI 2030 SMP. The plan includes how CLI’s Board and management work closely together to ensure that sustainability is factored in the company’s strategy formulation. CLI also sets sustainability and climate-related performance metrics and targets that are linked to the remuneration policies for senior management and staff. At CLI, all new investments in operational assets and development projects undergo the Environmental, Health and Safety Impact Assessment (EHSIA) during due diligence to identify any environmental risks and opportunities related to the asset or project site and its surroundings. The EHSIA uses an internal carbon price to quantify climate-related risks and opportunities. This assessment ensures that the required capital expenditure has been set aside for investments to meet CLI’s 2030 SMP targets. CLI continues to develop its proprietary metric, Return on Sustainability, to measure its ESG impact. This metric aims to redirect investments towards lower carbon solutions and renewable energy projects across CLI’s businesses and operations. CLI will also explore new metrics to measure climate-related risks and opportunities. CLI’s climate transition plan also includes a carbon mitigation hierarchy, initiatives to expand the capabilities of the Board, management and staff on ESG-related areas, and measures for stakeholder engagement among others. Stepping up efforts in reducing scope 3 carbon emissions and disclosures Moving forward, CLI will focus on scope 3 carbon emissions in its decarbonisation journey. It will enhance tracking and disclosure of material scope 3 categories, especially supply chain-related emissions. CLI has rolled out a green lease programme at its properties in Singapore and China, and plans to extend the programme to other markets globally as it works with tenants to enhance their sustainability performance. CLI will strengthen ESG screening of its suppliers and enhance the awareness of ESG and safety standards amongst CLI’s supply chain partners through targeted briefings and training. CLI is also exploring sustainable financing tools to incentivise suppliers to strengthen their ESG credentials. CLI and its REITs and business trusts will continue to analyse the full extent and magnitude of climate-related risks and opportunities of their portfolios. CLI will also assess the applicability of new nature-related disclosure guidelines under the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures which is becoming a focus area for global sustainability reporting requirements and investors. Concurrently, CLI is evaluating its readiness for reporting against the new standards launched by the International Sustainability Standards Board. Leveraging CapitaLand's diverse brand portfolio, we strive to offer immersive retail experiences that would resonate with players. This collaboration not only sets the stage for local tourism businesses and partners to experiment and reach new audiences in virtual environments, it also aligns with our goal to grow Singapore Wanderland into a platform for broader engagement with both the international and local communities." said Mr Kenneth Lim, Assistant Chief Executive, Marketing Group, Singapore Tourism Board. Delta Thailand Honored in Inaugural Fortune Asia Future 30 Recognizing Long-Term Growth Potential of Leading Companies in APAC
Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL., a subsidiary of Delta Group, is included as the only company from Thailand in the first Fortune Asia Future 30 list. Developed in collaboration with Boston Consulting Group (BCG), the Fortune Asia Future 30 is a list of thirty companies from the Asia Pacific region identified as innovators built for growth. Fortune identified Delta Thailand as driving two of the group’s most promising segments, data centers and electric vehicles (EVs), and as Thailand’s most valuable company at the time of assessment. “Asia faces a complex geopolitical and economic environment, including uncertainty around the upcoming U.S. election in November and a property crisis that could drag down key sectors of the Chinese economy. Yet despite that, firms in Asia are setting up paths for long-term growth. China again shows itself to be the center of the Asian economy, as investments in green tech and EVs pay off. But just as fascinating are the companies outside of China, including those from South Korea, Japan and India that show the hallmarks of future success,” said Nicholas Gordon, an Asia editor at Fortune. Attending the award ceremony at the Fortune Innovation Forum, Mr. Jackie Chang, Delta Thailand President and COO, said, “Delta prioritizes innovation and as a global group we typically invest almost 8% of our annual revenues in R&D. Our inclusion in the Fortune Asia Future 30 is yet another milestone in Delta’s 35 years of growth in Thailand where we have produced EV power electronics products for global customers for over a decade. We are now investing significantly in local R&D and production operations to meet growing demand. Besides EVs, we leverage our best-in-class power electronics R&D to further drive development in AI server power, thermal solutions, data center and telecom power and smart energy solutions.” Companies in Fortune’s new Asia Future 30 have significantly outperformed their peers in revenue growth over the past three years. The list applies the vitality measure, which quantifies companies’ long-term growth potential, turning the spotlight on Asian players with high vitality including the top 20 most vital players from China, and the top 10 from other countries in Asia. Beyond China, hot spots for growth potential are concentrated in South Korea, India, and Japan. Delta Thailand is the only company on the list with headquarters in Southeast Asia. To identify the Asia Future 30, the BCG Henderson Institute examined around 700 publicly traded companies across the APAC region with at least $10 billion in market value at year-end 2022, or $10 billion in revenue through 2022. Companies were assessed on their market potential—defined as expected future growth as determined by financial markets. Another consideration was each company’s capacity to deliver against this potential based on 19 factors, weighted by a machine learning algorithm for their ability to predict growth over the following five years. These fall into four categories: Strategy, Technology and Investments, People and Structure. Fortune is a global media organization upholding a legacy of award-winning writing and trusted reporting for executives who want to make business better. Fortune measures corporate performance through rigorous benchmarks and holds companies accountable. Fortune creates powerful and prestigious lists, events and conferences, such as the iconic Fortune 500, the CEO Initiative and Most Powerful Women. Delta Thailand's inclusion in the prestigious Fortune Asia Future 30 list is a testament to its outstanding performance and innovation in future trends shaping the global market.
