These solid wood floating shelves are designed to address the common issue faced by home owners of unsightly shelf brackets on show when having shelf storage space created in the home. Traditionally a shelf would have needed a bracket to support it. Shelf brackets can range from ugly metal angled brackets to more ornate wooden carved brackets.
More recently these concealed brackets have entered the market. They are strong and embedded in the rear of the shelf in a completely concealed fashion. The end result is a chunky solid wood shelf which appears to just ‘float’ in the air, hence the name.
