IntelliTec College has announced enrollment is now open for a new Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS) degree program designed for students who are looking to enter the Information Technology field. Beginning September 27, 2021, a new Computer Network Systems Technician AOS degree program will be offered at the Colorado Springs campus.

IntelliTec College’s mission is to provide the training programs students need in order to be prepared for the jobs that are in high demand in their communities. Computer and information technology workers are in high demand across the country. The U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics projects that employment in computer and information technology occupations will grow 11 percent from 2019 to 2029. Much faster than the average for all occupations, this growth is projected to add about 531,200 new jobs to the American economy (BLS). IntelliTec has added the Computer Network Systems Technician AOS degree program to help meet the need for Information Technology professionals in the Colorado Springs area.

The new Computer Network Systems Technician program at IntelliTec Colorado Springs teaches students the essentials of computer and network repair skills, and prepares them to test for relevant professional certifications. IntelliTec students learn how to build and repair computers; install, configure, and maintain a variety of Windows operating systems in a stand-alone, workgroup, and domain environment; set up internet connections and establish different types of networks like LAN (local area network) or WAN (wide area network); establish and maintain functioning routers and servers and prevent and repair malfunctions when they occur; and maintain network security fundamentals with Cloud technology. Additionally, students learn the necessary interpersonal “soft skills” for providing help and support to people and organizations using computer software or equipment. The CNST program is an Associate of Occupational Science (AOS) degree program, requiring 90-credit hours, and can be completed in as few as 19 months. The AOS degree program includes General Education courses, including IntelliTec’s Career and College Readiness course, as well as courses in business, leadership, and critical thinking.

IntelliTec is a CompTIA Authorized Academy, and the CNST program prepares graduates to test for professional certifications upon completion of the program. These certifications are recognized throughout the industry and highly valued by employers. IntelliTec prepares students to test for certifications including the CompTIA IT Fundamentals, CompTIA A+ Certified Technician (two exams: Hardware and Software), CompTIA Network+ Certified Professional, CompTIA Security+ Certified Professional, CompTIA Cloud+, and the Microsoft Technology Associate — Server and Linux Essentials. Graduates of IntelliTec’s CNST program will be prepared to enter the workforce as a computer systems administrator, network technician, end user support specialist, computer systems support technician, information technology associate, mobile device specialist (A+), or information security/assurance analyst.
