Portland based hard rock band, Veio, has released a new heavy metal song called “In Peril”, which is featured on their latest album, Infinite Light // Desperate Shadows. The album is receiving glowing reviews for its intense and complex mix of progressive rock and alternative metal.

The video is highly entertaining to watch, and features a bank heist which sees the band members stealing from a corrupt CEO.
The song represents one of the softer melodies on the album, and gives a nod to alternative metal music from the 2000s. It is available to listen to through YouTube on the URL above, or via the band’s official website.
Infinite Light // Desperate Shadows can be found on iTunes, Spotify, and all major music distributors. The latest song from the album, In Peril, is about the influence of being self absorbed and how it can impact the well-being of the individual and those around them.
The band explain that their latest album aims to capture the dichotomy between the light and the dark, both in a lyrical sense, and on a musical level.
Veio has drawn comparisons to Tool, Karnivool and Thrice for their layered music and heavy sound. Infinite Light // Desperate Shadows is their first studio release with the new band lineup, with Cam Byrd (vocals, guitar), Brett Byrd (drums), Trae Davis (lead guitar) and Kris Lewis (bass).
The band’s music already has its own style, with guitar riffs that immediately grab the attention, and great vocals. Many of the tracks also feature heavy beats, and have engaging videos accompanying them.
To celebrate the release of the new song, the band is touring and will be appearing at Titanfest on August 25th, at Louie G’s, Fife, WA.
