The park is open and accessible from April to October during the Northern Territory’s Dry Season. Jabiru is the main township in the Kakadu National Park. It has all the services you are likely to need and is a perfect base for exploring the park.
You will find plenty of accommodation here, with various tours departing daily such as scenic flights, 4wd tours, Aboriginal Cultural tours, boat cruises, fishing tours, bird watching, bushwalking etc.
Jabiru is about a 2 to 3 hour drive from Darwin and is accessible by 2WD vehicles in the Dry Season. You can hire a car, if needed, from Darwin, or catch a bus, or charter a plane. Once at Jabiru, you can sit back and relax at your accommodation site. Then join some of the many tours available.
