Audio CD gives people of faith suffering from addictions a way to approach 12 step recovery using the wisdom of the Holy Bible.

HB Publications, LLC, the publisher of media that aids in addiction recovery, announced today that it has launched a new Bible-themed 12 step audio series, starting with the debut of the “For I Will Be With You: 12 Step Audio Series – Genesis” CD. The audio CD offers a discussion of each of the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous as framed by a verse from the Book of Genesis.

“The idea for this audio series is to give a person of faith a convenient way to think through the complete 12 step cycle and be inspired to work a program of recovery based on the wisdom of the Holy Bible,” said Boruch Binyamin, author of the book “For I Will Be With You,” on which the CD is based. “AA is not aligned with any sect or denomination, of course, but there is still room for individuals in recovery to be helped in their personal programs through God’s messages as conveyed in the Bible.” The CD explores themes based on classical Torah commentary.

The CD contains 12 tracks, one for each of the 12 steps:

• Track 1: Step 1 - Genesis 1:1 – Asking how our powerless over alcohol affects our ability to experience the universe that God created.
• Track 2: Step 2 - Genesis 3:9 – Connecting God asking Adam, “Where are you?” to our belief that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
• Track 3: Step 3 - Genesis 6:16 – Exploring how Noah’s faith in God enabled him to turn his life and will over to the care of God.
• Track 4: Step 4 - Genesis 13:7 – Discussing how Lot’s argument with Abraham relates to making a fearless and searching moral inventory of ourselves.
• Track 5: Step 5 - Genesis 19:17 – Looking back, or not looking back (like Lot’s wife) and its resonance with admitting to God, to ourselves and to another human being, the exact nature of our wrongs.
• Track 6: Step 6 - Genesis 25:20 – Asking how Rebecca, related to the wicked Laban, could be so holy – and connecting it to the process of being entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
• Track 7: Step 7 - Genesis 27:22 – Contrasting “The voice of Jacob” with “The hands of Esau” and relating it to the idea of humbly asking Him to remove our shortcomings.
• Track 8: Step 8 - Genesis 28:12 – Seeing the relationship between “Jacob’s Ladder” and making a list of all persons we had harmed and becoming willing to make amends to them.
• Track 9: Step 9 - Genesis 32:25 – Showing how Jacob “wrestling with the Angel” relates to making direct amends.
• Track 10: Step 10 - Genesis 37:25 – Contrasting the sale of Joseph by his brothers with the idea of taking personal inventory and when we were wrong, promptly admitting it.
• Track 11: Step 11 - Genesis 41:2 – Examining Pharaoh’s dream of the 7 cows and relating it to the idea of seeking through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God.
• Track 12: Step 12 - Genesis 48:5 – Looking at Jacob’s blessing of Joseph’s sons Ephraim and Manasseh as it relates to the idea of carrying the message to other alcoholics and practicing these principles in all our affairs.
