The NHTSA has recorded a consumer alert about potential problems with this popular truck’s braking, steering and speed control components.
The manufacturer has reported that the new Silverados could experience issues when travelling at high speeds. Affected areas include the braking system, systems affecting the vehicle’s speed control and the steering system.
As one of San Antonio’s top auto and diesel repair headquarters, Texas Elite Auto & Diesel urges all owners of 2020 Chevrolet Silverados to come in today for a full inspection and analysis.
If there are any issues, they’re likely still covered by warranty and should be of little or no cost to vehicle owners.
“We’ve heard reports of drivers who have had their brakes engaged when travelling at high rates of speed, which causes the truck to jerk as if it missed a gear,” says Addam Bradshaw, owner and operator of Texas Elite Auto & Diesel. “If you own one of these new Chevrolet Silverado trucks, we urge you to take a look at this safety message.”
“If for no other reason than your peace of mind and the safety of yourself and your family, you owe it to yourself to have these safety issues fully evaluated and diagnosed.”
