Montana Trout Outfitters is joining with Casting for Recovery again for the eighth annual Cast One For Hope event on the Bitterroot river this fall. Since 2013, this event, which takes place on one of the premiere trout rivers in the country, has seen great success in raising funds to benefit women battling breast cancer. Organizers are excited about early interest for this fall event.
The Cast One for Hope is a weekend event of Montana fly fishing and fund raising in Hamilton, MT. It starts Friday evening, September 25th with a kick-off party at the Flying Horse MT in Corvallis open to all and will include music, great food, and local spirits and brew. The main event begins Saturday, September 26th, with the Single Fly Event. This is a good fun competition where a pair of anglers are teamed with a guide for a day of fly fishing on the Bitterroot River. Each angler gets to choose just one fly to fish for the day. Montana fishing regulations prevent awarding any prizes based on size or number of fish caught, but prizes are awarded for the longest surviving fly, most interesting catch, best story, and best photo of the day.
Following the day on the water is the Celebration Dinner and Auction. Gourmet dinner and wine pairings at the Flying Horse MT in Corvallis. The evening will also include live and silent auctions, which feature everything from custom jewelry to bucket-list fly fishing trips, along with this years awards presentation and music.
There are various levels of sponsorship available, and both individual and corporate sponsors are encouraged to participate. The field is limited to 32 anglers and several spots have already been filled.
