The MAMA award is coming up. USKpop.com will be covering news on MAMA in the days before, and weeks after the event.

Ever since Psy’s “Gangnam Style” took the world by storm, even to the point of breaking Youtube views than it can count, Western audiences have been developing an interest in Korean pop (or KPop for short).  And now, as the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) approaches, a newly launched website, USKpop.com, will ensure American fans are kept abreast of the happenings with up-to-date coverage.

Mnet Asian MusicAwards  is a major end of year music award show for K-pop which is broadcasted and streamed, not only in Asia, but across the world to its global audience. The event is slated for December 3, 2014, and many top Kpop and American acts such as: John Legend, Tiffany (SNSD), G-Dragon,Taeyang, EXO and BTS are scheduled to attend and may even perform their hits at the event.

In addition to the Korean line up of artists, special music guests from America/Europe are expected to perform along side them. In previous years, some of the guests included Will.i.am, Icona pop, Stevie Wonder, B.o.B., Adam Lambert, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre and Paris Hilton. This merging of Western and Asian artists performing on the same stage signifies, that despite language and cultural differences, “Music Makes One” which is the slogan used by MAMA.

MAMA’s slogan is also a theme shared by USKpop.com, which is a website dedicated to all news and updates related to the convergence of the Hollywood/American entertainment industry with the K-pop music industry. The website will be especially keen on providing coverage on any American artists to appear at the awards.

The folks at USKPop.com are excited about the website’s coverage of the event. They stated that, “Although Psy’s Gangnam Style brought Kpop into mainstream media, global interest in Korean Pop music has, and continues to, exist amongst a niche population in America. That population, however, is steadily growing with the increased advancement of Kpop in America. Most recently, CL (member of Kpop group 2NE1) was signed to Scooter Braun’s management company in preparation for her solo US debut.”

They further added, “Nick Cannon is also in the works of producing a Kpop themed TV series on Nickelodeon. Considering this trend, USKpop.com was launched as a new website dedicated to keeping people informed about Kpop news and events as it relates to the American audiences.”
