Brisbane-based fund manager Millinium Capital Managers has been awarded two 5-Star Ratings from Morningstar in its first year of ratings eligibility.
— Millinium's Multi-Strategy Income Option and Dividend Income Mandate received the top award from the ratings and research house.
Millinium chief investment officer Mark Phillips said he was pleased with the inflows that the funds strong, consistent performance was bringing.
"The fact that the Multi Strategy Income option is ranked No.1 and the Dividend Income Mandate option is ranked No.2 in their respective categories against a number of very highly competitive and much larger investment managers shows that a boutique investment house can compete and offer substantive value to its investors," he said.
Millinium's Multi-Strategy Income Option returned 20.50% in the last 12 months, and 14.47% annualised over the past three years to 30 April 2013. Millinium's Dividend Income Mandate returned 41.48% in the last 12 months and has returned 18.12% annualised for the past three years to 30 April 2013.
Millinium fund manager Neill Colledge said the despite the high returns there was a low-risk investment philosophy in place.
"The conventional approach to funds management in Australia has failed to satisfy investors' needs, so Millinium is focusing on funds which are both practically effective and intellectually rigorous," Colledge said.
"Our objective is to maintain the outperformance of our funds irrespective of any benchmark, based on our stock selection. This offers reliable capital growth and consistent income, which is a differentiating point for us."
