Earlier today, Meeraqi finally announced the beginning of its new Ableton Live Music Production Workshop in Bangalore, which has been in development since August 2017. The main aim is to train music lovers in how to produce a song from the comfort of their bedroom with nothing more than a laptop and a pair of headphone-tutorials, with guides and forums for any question they may have just a google search away. … But it does so, with a difference.
Sudeep Bhattacharya, Director at Meeraqi, says: “We wanted to try something new with this Ableton Live Music Production Workshop. Anyone familiar with the music market will probably have noticed how everyone else seems to focus on the technical part of music production alone ignoring its musical aesthetics altogether. This is a problem because music production is not a mere technical job to learn, it’s rather an art that one needs to keep practicing endlessly in order to excel in it.”
So as a welcome breath of fresh air, Meeraqi will instead host Dawn, an Ableton certified trainer, who teaches music technology as well as sound design across several reputed institutions in Bangalore such as Audio Academy, Seamedu Institute, CMR University and many more. Meeraqi chose to make this move because Ableton Live is the software made and used by musicians, producers, and DJs the world over. With its focus both on music composition and live performances, Ableton live is the perfect partner for any musician/producer giving them the ability to take their music from the bedroom or studio directly to the stage..
Sudeep Bhattacharya also said “We want to give our trainees a clear understanding of how to turn their ideas into reality as well as a better vision on where to go from there. With our new Ableton Live Music Production Workshop, they have a fresh new possibility. We want them to feel they can easily get a foot in the door of the world of music-making through using modern techniques and implementing industry proven workflows when using our service. Trying something new is always a risk, but it’s a risk we believe is worth taking.”
Meeraqi has been in business for quite some time now, having been established in August 2017. Since Day 1 it has always aimed at establishing an artists’ collective and creative space, which offers both professional and aspiring artists an avenue to expand their skill set, and express themselves through their chosen discipline.
This isn’t the first time Meeraqi has defied convention either. In March 2018 they caused a stir when they hosted creative arts therapy festival with four facilitators doing therapy through various different art genres.
