GD e-Bridge mobile telemedicine technology will enable physicians to be at the site of emergency situations both physically and virtually 24/7 to save more lives.

— Atlantic City, NJ: In a joint announcement at the National Conference on EMS, GD (General Devices) and MD1 announced that they have partnered to provide mobile telemedicine and enhanced team communication throughout the MD1 Program region. Physicians from the MD1 Program will use the GD e-Bridge app on their mobile devices for live HIPAA-secure video and communications both pre-arrival and on the scene of critical emergencies that they respond to.

MD1 is a nonprofit corporation that focuses solely on bringing doctors to the site of emergency situations. They deploy highly-trained physicians to the sites of crashes, accidents, strokes, heart attacks, natural disasters, mass casualties and other emergencies requiring advanced life support. Their capabilities include giving blood, advanced airway techniques, surgical procedures, field amputation, advanced procedures on the heart, etc. so they can save more lives.

“This partnership is great news for the public in the greater NJ area.” said Curt Bashford, CEO of GD. “It aligns perfectly with our core purpose – ‘To improve the health and well-being of the public at large, by providing Responsive Innovation for public safety responders and care providers.’ added Bashford.

By making use of the feature-rich GD e-Bridge mobile telemedicine app, MD1 Program’s physicians will be able to connect quickly and collaborate with other team physicians and ultimately area EMT’s, paramedics and hospital emergency departments. Some of the features that make GD e-Bridge an ultimate tool to help save lives includes HIPAA-secure alerts and notifications, live location tracking, vitals, pictures, video clips, live video conferencing, group chat, language interpretation and more.

The MD1 Program has been an incredible success in the area of bringing medical service to patients in places where there is no easy access to medical experts. They operate a program that offers 24/7, on the go, and efficient medical service delivery, especially during the time of emergency.

“We are excited about the possibilities with this partnership.” said Dr. Mark Merlin, Founder and CEO of MD1. “With GD e-Bridge, our physicians will now have technology literally on their side. We will be able to more easily dispatch to the scene, engage with medics and EMS ambulances via telemedicine before we arrive and collaborate to deliver even better care by bringing the emergency room to the patient instead of the other way around.” Added Merlin.
