Ahead of the December 31, 2017 deadline for DFARS 252.204-7012 Compliance, CKSecurity Solutions (CKSS), has compiled a suite of NIST SP 800-171 DFARS Compliance Templates. 3 – Policies and Procedures Toolkit.
The Policies and Procedures Toolkit has been developed to assist organizations in setting mandates/requirements based on NIST SP 800-171 Rev 1. Policies provide the foundation for building a secure DFARS252.204.7012 program for any organization. They also augment Procedures and the System Security Plan. The journey for DFARS 252.204.7012 starts with policies which serve as a reference point for types of processes, tools, and technologies that are require implementation to achieve compliance. According to industry experts, the effects of non-compliance of DFARS 252.204-7012 are real. There is potential for ethical, legal, administrative, or contractual penalties. A Department of Defense contractor or subcontractor can be debarred from doing business with the Federal government for failing to comply.
