Mark White Fine Art to Give Away Studio Session with Charles Veilleux and Unveils Veilleux’s Newest Piece.

Mark White Fine Art on historic Canyon Road is offering a coveted two-hour session, valued at $1500, with Charles Veilleux at his Santa Fe studio. The session will be an all-inclusive, interactive experience between the winner and Veilleux. Based on the winner’s preference, the session will be a discussion about art by the fireplace with wine and cheese, a demonstration from Veilleux, or a hands-on experience – or a combination of the three. Anyone interested can enter to win between January 1st and February 2. The winner will then be announced at midnight on Feb. 2 and will have until Labor Day to redeem the studio session. Note, if the winner is travelling to participate in the studio session, he or she must take care of his or her own food, traveling and lodging accommodations. There will be three ways interested parties can enter: through the contest portal on Facebook, through the gallery’s in-house drawing, and through a sign-up on Mark White Fine Art’s blog.

Mark White Fine art has also recently unveiled Veilleux’s newest acrylic and mixed media piece called “Jupiter.” Veilleux employed interference color for an iridescent effect. The 48” by 48” composition pays homage to sacred geometry and is a cross-cultural reference to the power of the moon’s presence in the vast world. The center of the sculptural painting demonstrates planetary movement through the Star of David, while the central right and left show the contrast of night and day in the earth’s hemispheres. The piece has a language of its own, of which viewers can decipher through their personal interpretations, and the colors are reminiscent of ancient Russian rug weavings, that too paid artistic homage to sacred geometry. The piece is presently hanging at Mark White Fine Art and visitors are invited to view it in person. The pops of color and texture come to life in the flesh.
