Maryland Plastic Surgery and PURE MedSpa in partnership with The Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes has launched the “Make A Veteran Smile” program which is designed to aid and uplift veterans who have experienced life-changing traumas during their service to the country. Over 50 veterans have applied for the program through the Coalition to Support America’s Heroes. This month, the first recipient of the Make A Veteran Smile program has been announced. Sharlaysha Powers, a Navy veteran was chosen to receive this month’s free reconstructive plastic surgery procedure.
The procedure will be done by Dr. Adam Summers and his team at the Maryland Plastic Surgery and PURE MedSpa Center.The participants of the program will get reconstructive plastic surgery procedures free of charge care of Maryland Plastic Surgery and PURE MedSpa.
The Make a Veteran Smile program or MAVS invites all veterans to join by submitting their stories on how a reconstructive plastic surgery procedure is going to improve their lives. Qualified veterans need to complete the application form to participate. Every month a fortunate veteran will be selected to receive a complimentary plastic surgery procedure by Dr. Summers at the Maryland Plastic Surgery Center.
The program is founded by Dr. Adam Summers the CEO of Maryland Plastic Surgery and PURE MedSpa. Dr. Summers was inspired to start the program because his father also served the country. Dr. Summers understands what veterans have to go through after experiencing traumas from the physical and emotional scars they get during their service.
“My father proudly served as a veteran for the country and I wanted to find a way to honor all of veterans. I know how much they have given to the country and I also know that many of them have experienced hardships. I am excited to be able to do something that will bring a smile to their face and that of their family. I also believe that others will want to support this mission, which is why I’m inviting local residents to participate in my new Make a Veteran Smile program.” said Dr. Adam Summers
In addition to the free reconstructive plastic surgery procedures, Dr. Adam Summers has also hosted events to build community support for the United States troops and veterans who might be struggling with coping from emotional, spiritual and physical scars. Maryland Plastic Surgery and PURE MedSpa has started a special package where a portion of the proceeds are going to be donated for veterans who are in need of support.
