Nanodegree courses are short-term degree-level programs that feature core subjects and electives and are 6 to 12 months in duration. The machine learning engineer nanodegree imparts industry-relevant skills through a series of projects that require the application of methods and techniques from each course module.

The Udacity course allows students to acquire knowledge and skill with advanced machine learning techniques and algorithms. The course covers the packaging and deployment of machine learning models to a production environment.

Program participants are expected to possess at least 40 hours of basic programming experience, familiarity with data structures, linear algebra, and basic knowledge of machine learning algorithms. Other prerequisites include a working knowledge of Python software libraries including NumPy and Pandas.

The course gives participants practical experience with the development, deployment, and testing of trained machine learning models with Amazon Sagemaker. Key industry skills imparted include the use and updating of A/B test models and the use of machine learning to solve real-world problems.

The nanodegree program features real-world projects from industry experts, one-to-one technical mentoring, flexible learning provisions, and access to personal career coaches and experienced project reviewers.

According to a spokesperson for the machine learning online course provider, “As more and more companies are looking to build machine learning products, there is a growing demand for engineers who can deploy machine learning models to global audiences. In this program, students learn how to create an end-to-end machine learning product.”

Clearsky Learning features high-value nanodegree courses from Udacity. The machine learning engineer nanodegree is offered in collaboration with Amazon Web Services and Kaggle.
