Melbourne-based company MA Services Group have recently pledged their continued and long-term commitment to create a workplace that is culturally integrated and believes that this is the foundation of their success.

Victoria is one of the most culturally varied societies in the world and this makes it one of the fastest-growing and diverse states in Australia. Since 2011, the population has increased by 10.7% and now stands at 5.93 million.

According to the 2016 census, 28% of the population of Victoria was born overseas with a further 3% being indigenous. Moreover, 26% of the population speak a language other than English at home.

Given these facts, MA services group were quick to recognise the true value that a culturally integrated workplace can bring, and diversity and inclusion have now become an important part of everything that they do.

A spokesperson from the company said;

“From a business perspective, embracing diversity and being inclusive makes complete sense. It gives us access to a wider range of talent – not just the talent that belongs to a particular ethnicity or worldview, or some other restricting definition.

As a company, we value and embrace all perspectives and are fully committed to making recruitment and career development processes open and available to all – Whatever their background or ethnicity”.

This appears to be verified by comments left on the popular company review website, Glassdoor including;

“Great staff, great team”, “Great company to work for in that they believe that everyone deserves a go”, and “real opportunities to advance”

MA Services Group currently employs between 500 and 1000 people and are themselves one of the fastest growing companies within the security services sector. Recently they secured major contracts with two of Victoria’s largest development projects – the Metro Tunnel project valued at $11 billion and the $6.7 billion West Gate Tunnel project.

In addition, they also provide security for Queen Victoria Market, Coles Stores throughout Victoria, New Zealand and Tasmania and some of the largest festivals and sporting events in the Melbourne calendar. These include the White Night Cultural Festival, the popular Moomba Festival, and major sporting events like the Melbourne Cup.

As more and more organisations are slowly waking up to the fact that employing a culturally diverse group of people adds long-term benefit to an organisation, it does appear that MA Services Group is already way above the curve, and this is reflected in their growing success.
