Love’s Illusions by romance writer Jolene Cazzola has been chosen as a finalist in the “Novel with Strong Romantic Elements” category of the 2016 Maggie Awards for Writing Excellence. The winner will be announced at the Moonlight & Magnolias Conference on October 1, 2016.


Author Jolene Cazzola’s first novel, Love’s Illusions, has been chosen as a finalist in the “Novel with Strong Romantic Elements” category of the 2016 Maggie Awards for Writing Excellence. The winner will be announced at the Moonlight & Magnolias Conference held September 29 – October 2, 2016 in Peachtree Corners, Georgia.

Romance novels account for more than a billion dollars in sales per year according to BookStats, the Center for Publishing Market Data. The statistics include romance books published as E-books, mass-market paperback books, trade paperback books, hardcover books and audio books.


The average age of a person who purchases a romance novel is between 30-54 years old and 84% of them are female. Romance books account for 13% of the adult fiction category according to Nielsen Books & Consumer Tracker, BISAC Romance.


Love’s Illusions by romance author Jolene Cazzola is her first book in a series, and whether it becomes a 2016 Maggie Award for Excellence winner in the “Novel with Strong Romantic Elements” category will be determined at the Moonlight & Magnolias Conference on October 1. Winners are judged and chosen by booksellers and librarians.


The Maggie Award for Excellence has been given out by Georgia Romance Writers for more than three decades. Georgia Romance Writers is a chapter of Romance Writers of America, an association of more than 10,200 members from more than 35 countries.


Membership in Romance Writers of America and the Georgia Romance Writers includes published and unpublished romance fiction writers, associate members interested in learning about a career in romance fiction writing, publishing industry professionals, booksellers and librarians.


“Since this was my first book, I am very happy to have it recognized by such a prestigious group as The Georgia Romance Writers,” Cazzola said. The second book published in her series, Love’s Journey, was released in March, and Cazzola is currently working on her third book in the series.
