Mr. Liu Youju, a famous Chinese artist and liberal critic gave a speech on the Criticism of Regionalism at the Florence Academy of Fine Arts. He also founded the international art salon by drawing on the art and ideological forms of the European Renaissance Masters Club and held the first Chinese and French Art Forum in the Guangzhou Baiyun International Conference Center in October this year. French literary critics like Yves Kobry, Francois Michaud, Remy Aron, Christian Noorbergen, Chinese art critics like Zhang Fuye, Zhao Li, Shu Shijun, Tang Yingshan, Wu Qiang, Yu Yang, Gao Ling, Cang Xin, Chen Mo, Ma Zelin and Wang Qifan attended the meeting. The critics expressed their understanding of contemporary art from different perspectives with their respective artistic views. From the standpoint of modernism, the French critic Yves Copley made an academic historical perspective on New York School and Paris School. Gao Ling, a Chinese critic, is deeply critical of the lack of contemporary consciousness in Chinese contemporary art.In his keynote speech, Liu Youju pointed out that: Today, I do not start from the historical scene of contemporary art, because the vision of this historical scene is too narrow and the focus of this art is not to interpret the deeper and broader political meaning from the civic consciousness of art. China is one of the countries that lack the consciousness of artistic citizenship. In this country, world art masters recognized by the West were never born. In this sense, as long as there is a sense of citizenship to cultivate art, Chinese culture can accelerate its integration with the value system of world civilization.
We have to admit that the development of Chinese contemporary art is also wrapped up in the dilemma of confident regionalism. Therefore, to break through the spiritual constraints of regionalism, we can find the fundamental direction of the development of contemporary art.

In August 2015, Rational Return of Illusionism – a Liu Youju Art Exhibition was held at the Maréchal Hall of the Louvre Decorative Art museum.
In October 2015, the British Parliament held a personal exhibition of paintings at the British Museum. His works Through the Millennium and Fertility of the Universe are respectively collected by the British Parliament and the British Museum as a part of their permanent collections.
In June 2016, the Florence National Academy of Fine Arts held the exhibition Demolition VS Construction - an Exhibition of Liu Youju's Illusionism Paintings at the Florence National Academy of Fine Arts of Italy. His academic seminar, Criticism of Regionalism, received a strong response.
In June 2016, his personal work seminar was held in the Masters’ Club of the Florence Academy of Fine Arts.
In July 2016, the Liu Youju Art Exhibition was held in Palais medicis-riccardi, Florence. Autumn Scenery and other pieces by Liu Youju have been collected permanently by important academic institutions such as the Florence National Academy of Fine Arts, the Academy Of Fine Arts In Milan and the Palais Médicis.
In October 2017, The Illusion of Time and Space Meets the Pompidou — a Liu Youchang Painting Exhibition and Academic Research Association was held at the Centre Georges Pompidou in France.
