In Lamson’s Vocational Nursing program, students learn how to measure and record vital signs, administer medications and injections, initiate and assess IV sites, collect laboratory specimens, record information in electronic health records, work with a multitude of varying interdisciplinary team members in the care of patients in various stages of life and disease processes to maintain optimal health and functioning within their activities of daily living. Students will also develop the communication and interpersonal skills that are necessary for patient care and patient teaching; while also developing the critical thinking skills necessary for continuous monitoring of changes in patient conditions that require intervention.


Lamson’s program provides hands-on training from experienced, professional faculty, and classes are limited in size so that students receive personalized attention and support. Upon completion of the Vocational Nursing program, students are prepared to sit for the NCLEX-PN licensure examination by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).
