Kootenai Urgent Care, a local urgent health care provider, was recently announced as the area’s Best Urgent Care Facility for 2012. The award was voted on by readers of the Coeur d’Alene Press.Kootenai Urgent Care started just two years ago, when 28 local family practitioners joined together to provide a comprehensive urgent care solution for residents of the Coeur d’Alene, Hayden and Post Falls areas. Eric Koelsch, executive director of Kootenai Urgent Care, said he is proud of how far the facility has come in just two short years.
“We are honored and humbled the people of North Idaho appreciate the services we provide,” Koelsch said. “The staff and physicians work hard to provide quality urgent care services, so the recognition is gratifying.”
Kootenai Urgent Care provides care for the community when a patients primary care provider is not available and the care needed doesn’t require the level of care level provided at the emergency rooms. Kootenai Urgent Care provides affordable, comprehensive level of care. KUC also provides occupational health care and pre-employment health screenings, including drug testing and physicals. Of these services, Koelsch said, “We want to help employers maintain a healthy and productive workforce.”
In August, KUC launched a new, updated website, which offers patients a more seamless, convenient and easy experience when seeking urgent medical care. Through the site, patients can submit online bill payments, check in from home and even fill out patient satisfaction surveys. The website even houses a forms section, so visitors can print and fill out health care forms in the comfort of their own home, instead of in a crowded waiting room.
Kootenai Urgent Care boasts a no-appointment-needed policy, so patients can seek medical care as soon as the need arises. KUC even provides after-hours urgent care services seven days a week in each of its three convenient locations.
