Kent Ridge Hill Residences Condo development has been acquired by Oxley Holdings with the acceptance of their bid worth $418 million. South Buona Vista Road is the location of the property site which will be transformed into an elite residential site. Oxley Holdings already has plans which are underway to develop the property. The space is large enough to hold up to 530 units in structures up to five storeys high. Each unit will be approximately 800 square feet of living space.Individual owners of the Kent Ridge Hill residences through the brokerage firm of Teakhwa real estate agreed to accept the bid which was nearly twenty percent higher than the expected sale of $350 million. The area where the residences are to be located is found in the southern part of Queenstown, Singapore. Two major parks are in the area: Hort Park and Ridge Park. The site is bordered by National University of Singapore's main campus.
The Kent Ridge Hill Residence Oxley property was originally known as the Pasir Panjang Ridge. It held lowland evergreen rainforest. The 19th-century settlers in the area grew pineapple, pepper and gambier. British forces used the area as a defensive stronghold during World War II. Later the Duchess of Kent, her son, the Duke of Kent, and the Governor of Singapore placed a plaque identifying the place as Kent Ridge, in honor of the visit.
