The Fundamentals of Basic Accounting and Bookkeeping workshop will be presented for registered members of the Bar Association of Lehigh County on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 by business owner Judy Perry and attorney Buddy Lesavoy, Esq. The purpose of the workshop is to show firms how proper accounting is necessary to understand the financial state of a law practice and enable better decision making with an end resulting in increased profits and compliance with state regulations.

The workshop is part of the Bar Association of Lehigh County’s mission to provide continuing legal education for their members. Since the turn of the century, the Bar Association of Lehigh County has provided service and assistance to the area’s lawyers and the community. The association was officially chartered in 1905 “to advance the science of jurisprudence and the administration of justice, to encourage a thorough legal education, to uphold the honor and dignity of the bar, to cultivate social and professional association among its members, to assist the courts in the orderly and efficient administration of justice and to perpetuate the history of the profession and the memory of its members within this judicial district.”

Both presenters were chosen because they are extremely well versed in their respective fields, and therefore able to bring an abundance of potentially unknown but needed information to members of the Bar Association. According to Perry, “The association’s hope is the attending members will learn new information that will help them to navigate today’s complex business environment and implement the proper techniques and systems necessary to better know their true financial state, which will facilitate better decision making.” The Lehigh Valley Bar Association and Perry are confident this will result in improved compliance in legal issues that can cripple a practice and bring increased profits to it’s member practices.
