JSB and their professional staff installed a new high definition DVR/NVR replacement for their commercial client, Consolidated Container Company based in Minneapolis. The client needed to replace a broken eight year old DVR and required more high-quality recordings. This new system offers compatibility of three camera technologies - traditional CCTV analog cameras, high definition HD-SDI cameras, and high definition IP cameras. This solution allowed Consolidated Container Company to keep some of their existing analog cameras and upgrade others at the same time. The DVR/NVR replacement server can support up to 32 separate cameras and supports all three camera technologies. The DVR/NVR also has built-in remote camera access, motion detection recording, IPAD, IPHONE, and Android support, and can store months of high definition video recordings. The recording server uses Geovision NVR/DVR software.
Some of their existing analog CCTV cameras will be replaced with new HD-SDI model cameras. Because the HD-SDI cameras use the same cable as the CCTV cameras, significant dollars will be saved since there is no need to run new cabling to each of the HD-SDI camera locations. By keeping some of the original cameras, the customer is also able to upgrade their system in a cost-effective way. Using these different cameras technologies gives them flexibility as is a significant cost saver.
The new Geovision IP cameras and JSB-IPC2MPBULLET cameras used in the upgrade are both rated at 2 Megapixels and 1.3 Megapixels respectively.
