Zion Memorial Chapel, Westchester County’s ONLY independent & exclusive Jewish Funeral Home is celebrating 25 years of service to the community.
Zion Memorial Chapel was founded in 1995 at the urging of several NYC rabbis who noticed a void in the area for privately-run Jewish funeral homes. Prior to Zion’s opening, families were forced into selecting high-cost conglomerate funeral homes that served the Jewish faith or independent firms that shared facilities or rented space in other funeral homes. Zion remains unique a quarter of a century later by standing along to serve the Jewish community.
“What has always set Zion apart is this firm’s level of service,” says Jennifer Graziano, Vice President of Zion Memorial Chapel. “Families continue to call upon Zion to serve them in their hour of need and their friends and relatives will call Zion for the same after having witnessed this firm’s attention to detail.” Graziano goes on to say, “Few people were aware of Zion Memorial Chapel’s strong ties to the Jewish Community. For many years the founder managed an Orthodox Jewish Funeral Home, Shomrei Hadas, in Brooklyn. There, he developed relationships with many rabbis who served as mentors over the years. It was their encouragement that started the journey to the creation of Zion Memorial Chapel”.
Each family that has called upon Zion in the past 25 years is united in their feelings that they received exceptional service. In addition, families who call upon Zion are not having their loved ones transported throughout the county. When families call Zion, their loved ones remain in the care of Zion, throughout the entire process, as Zion Funeral Home has on-site refrigeration facilities, and Zion does not share a facility with another funeral home.
