Jayne PDX Holding Holiday Toy Drive in Portland, Oregon, Asking For Donations

Local small business, Jayne PDX in Portland, Oregon is encouraging folks in the area to donate toys and art supplies for local kids this holiday season.

Portland, Oregon- As November draws to an end and Thanksgiving quickly approaches, most families are gearing up for The big Black Friday events in order to get great deals on gifts for their friends and family. However, local dispensary in Portland is asking local Portland folks to think of those who are less fortunate or may not be able to provide their family with qualified gifts this year.

Jayne PDX is known for their monthly charity events and fund raisers. The business has actually raised a substantial amount of money over the past few years as Jayne has supported a different charity every month with a portion of their sales. This holiday season, Jayne PDX year, has been working exclusively to support two great charities: Sisters of the Road and Cascade AIDS Project (CAP).

CAP, which was founded in 1983, is the oldest and largest community-based provider of HIV services, housing, education, and advocacy in Oregon and Southwest Washington. In 2016, CAP expanded its mission by opening PRISM Health, which is Portland’s first LGBT health clinic. PRISM provides primary care and testing services for the LGBTQ+ community.

From November 18th until December 1st, Jayne PDX will be collecting new gifts for 50 children between the ages of 5 and 15 who are part of Camp KC, CAP’s one week summer camp on the Oregon Coast for kids affected by HIV. At Camp KC, kids get to experience summer camp magic in a safe and supportive environment where they can be free from the stigma of HIV, knowing that every other child at camp understands their situation.

The holiday gifts Jayne PDX will be collecting will be handed out to the Camp KC kids during their holiday dinner in December. Jayne PDX is specifically asking for new, wearable gifts like winter jackets, sports gear/camping gear, and art supplies, movie tickets, OMSI passes, etc. The business is taking donations at their location, 2145 NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Portland, OR 97212
